Methodology Table of contents Introduction Phase 1: Preliminary Investigation In the Preliminary Investigation phase, the problems are briefly identified and a few solutions suggested. Drivers deducts more fare from passengers rather than the actual fair for the appropriate stage.
For example from Cunningham to FIELDS is ICC and right to town is a $1. 15 but drivers deduct $1. 15 when a passenger gets off in FIELDS. C] No refunds: In addition to the first problem when drivers deduct more fare Han passengers demand for a refund drivers don’t give it. Conflicts arose in the bus and leads to inappropriate behavior by one of them. C] Time consuming: it takes time for divers to enter stages and issue receipt t passengers. Therefore it takes a lot of time for passengers to get in the bus while there are more people waiting to get in.

The system has its negative effects and positive effects on the company as well as the passengers. Problems that arose are that drivers are deducting more bus fare from passengers than deducting the actual fare.
In addition drivers do not give refunds to passengers when the above problems occur. Even if there is an emergency and the passengers has to get off again no refunds can be made. Therefore when all these problems occurring it is also time insuring. It takes up more time for drivers to enter the stage and wait for the receipt to issue to passengers. A suggestive solution made is to create a database in using the Ms Excess. That is to make it easy for companies in using the e-ticketing system. In addition the company can buy of the shelve. Here, data is collected about the present information system. This data s then analyses and new requirements are determined. Analysts are not concerned with the new designs here, only with the new requirements for the new system. There are three (3) tasks carried out by the analyst in this phase. They are: 1 . Gathering data 2. Analyzing data 3. Documenting the System Analysis stage.
Task 1: Gathering data In this task interviews have been made to the Fiji Bus Company Ltd and below is the organization chart of the company. Then bus checkers report to the receptionist for the audit. The receptionist than report to the finance department for furthermore audit of daily operation. From the finance department they than report to the Chief Executive Manager. Task 2: Analyses data In this task the flow chart has been created below on how the flow of information goes from when you purchase an E-ticketing card and how to recharge it.

This organization chart shows how the information flows within the organization. This flow starts from the bus drivers till the Chief Executive Manager. From the bus drivers the bus checkers record each trip and amount f passenger in the bus.
Furthermore the information from the bus checkers is than taken to receptionist that is in charge of the bus checkers. The finance department than audit the records and final decision is made by the Chief Executive Manager. Therefore the information in the company flows as mentioned and the final decision is made by the top level management. To add the system flow chart is also been shown above. This is the system flow chart on how to purchase an e-ticketing card and how to recharge it. It shows how the database is updated how the form is filled and how the card is processed.
Also owe the card is being recharged till the end. Therefore this is how an e-ticketing card is purchased and recharged. In almost all instances, more than one design can be developed to meet the information needs of an organization. There are three (3) types of feasibility that are carried out on any information system. A. Economic feasibility- whether the cost of the new system will be justified by the benefits it promises? Technical feasibility – Are reliable hardware, software and training available to make the system work? Hardware Software c.
Operational feasibility – Will the system be actually made to operate in the organization or will the people (employees, managers, clients) resist it? This system will actually operate in this organization because employees will realism how easy their work can be. Through training employees are able to grasp how it works and it will help them as it will deduct errors made manually. As this system is operates it can catch any inappropriate actions made. It will also benefit the clients which are passengers as they can use cards rather than money which can be stolen at times. Therefore this system will benefit everyone that uses it.
Task 2: Selecting the best information system When choosing the best design, managers must consider these four (4) questions: CLC Will the system fit the organizations overall information systems? Will the system be flexible enough so that it can be modified in the future? Can it be made secure against unauthorized use? Are the benefits worth the cost? Will the system fit the organizations overall information systems? The system is used in all the buses and it fits the organization. Database is created through the use of software’s that enables the finance department to keep track of all procedures.
This system will help in maintain the running of the organization s it will prevent any theft or other things that can lead to a liquidation of the organization. Therefore it is best fit for the organization. Will the system be flexible enough so that it can be modified in the future? This system is flexible as it makes everything easier for the organization. This system helps the organization because every transactions made is computerized and it is easier to enter data and store data in its database. Also it saves time as it automatically updates the database while the swipe of card has been made.
Can it be made secure against unauthorized use? Yes it is secure. In this system it is a benefit to the organization because it can detect any theft within the drivers. As the passengers swipes the card the amount of money being deducted and the stage where the passengers goes is stored in the system. If the drivers wants to take money for personal use it can be located as system will be audited it will see the amount of money missing. Therefore this system is secured and leads to a success of the organization. Are the benefits worth the cost? The benefits of the business are worth the cost because it benefits both the
Fiji Bus Company Ltd and the Avoidance Company for creating this e-ticketing system. The cost of the e-ticketing system is affordable to the organization because now they can recover from all thefts been occurring for the past few years. They are able to gain more profit and deduct actual fares from passengers. Therefore the costs of the e-ticketing system are beneficial.
